This special series on “Advances in Microsurgical Breast Reconstruction” is co-edited by Dr. Ketan M Patel from the University of Southern California and Dr. Ara A. Salibian from the University of California.

Dr. Ketan M. Patel is currently an Associate Professor of Surgery in the Division of Plastic Surgery at University of Southern California, Keck School of Medicine. His expertise and focus are in reconstructive microsurgery, with special interests in head and neck, breast, trunk, and extremity reconstruction, and also lymphedema surgery.

He has published over 80 articles, book chapters, and abstracts related to plastic and reconstructive surgery and a co-editor of the textbook on lymphedema surgery.

Ara A. Salibian, MD
University of California, Davis, CA, USA.

Dr. Ara Salibian is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at the University of California, Davis. He is the Director of Breast Microsurgery as well as the Center for Lymphatic Disease. He received his medical degree at the University of California, Irvine and subsequently went on to complete his Plastic Surgery training at the NYU Hansjörg Wyss Department of Plastic Surgery in New York City. He then completed a microsurgery fellowship at the University of Southern California focusing on breast reconstruction, lower extremity salvage and lymphatic surgery.
