Dr. Kebebew is Chief of the Endocrine Oncology Branch in the National Cancer Institute (NCI). He received his bachelor's degree from the University of California, Los Angeles in Chemical Engineering. Dr. Kebebew completed his medical training, surgical residency and NCI T32 Basic Science fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Kebebew was on the faculty at the University of California, San Francisco until 2009, when he was recruited to the NCI. His research is focused on the genetics/genomics of endocrine cancers with the ultimate goal of translating these findings to improve diagnosis and treatment of these cancers. His clinical practice is dedicated to patients with endocrine neoplasms. He is an internationally recognized surgeon and scientist.
